1. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, requesting a guide, or booking an on-site visit on behalf of a business or organisation, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Cancellation Policy, and you accept them for that business or organisation. The services are provided by Edward Printer Solutions, owned by Edward Peters, 1493 Oakleaf Dr, St. Anne, IL 60964, USA ("we", "us").
Edward Printer Solutions provides printer solutions to businesses only. We do not provide services to households or for personal use.
2. Independent provider
We are an independent printer service company for businesses. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, Samsung, Xerox or any other manufacturer. Brand names and model numbers are used only to identify compatible hardware. See the Independent Disclaimer for details.
3. What we provide
All of the following are provided to businesses and organisations only, for business purposes:
- Free step-by-step guides: informational PDF guides sent by email for printer errors and questions that don't need a visit, compiled from publicly available manufacturer documentation and common printer behaviour. Available to businesses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand.
- On-site printer visits: a technician comes to your business, at an address in Illinois or Indiana within 65 miles of St. Anne, Illinois, to fix printers used by your business. Visits are priced as described in section 6.
What we fix on site: Printer setup and installation; Network and Wi-Fi printing setup; Printer drivers on office computers; Printer offline or not printing; Print quality and blank pages; Paper jams, rollers and feeding; Scanner and scan-to-email setup; Error codes and warning lights.
We do not fix printers remotely. For errors and questions that don't need a visit, request our free step-by-step guide by email. For everything else, a technician comes to your business.
4. Eligibility
- Our services are provided only to businesses and organisations (including sole traders, non-profits, schools and practices) for business purposes. We do not provide services to households or for personal use.
- By requesting a guide or booking a visit, you represent that you act on behalf of a business or organisation and have its permission to do so.
- On-site visits are available only at business addresses within 65 miles of St. Anne, Illinois, measured in a straight line, not by driving distance. We confirm the address before scheduling and may decline a visit outside this area.
- We may decline or cancel any request or visit that is for household or personal use. If we cancel a visit for this reason, there is no charge and anything already paid is refunded in full.
- You must be at least 18 years old. Your business must own the equipment or have the owner's permission to have it serviced.
Printer problem at home? Please contact your printer's manufacturer.
5. Guides are informational
Guides are general reference material. Menus, button names and procedures vary by model, firmware and operating system. Follow instructions at your own discretion, back up important data before changing settings or drivers, and stop if a step does not match your device. Guides are not a substitute for the manufacturer's own manual or warranty service.
6. On-site visits: prices, cancellation and payment
Booking an on-site visit on our order form is a request. A visit is booked only when we confirm the date and time with you and that your business address is within our service area. Prices are in US dollars.
- On-site visit: $119 per visit. Includes travel anywhere within 65 miles of St. Anne, IL (no trip, mileage or zone fee), diagnosis at your business, and the first 60 minutes of labor on one printer or several. Unused included time is not refunded or carried over.
- Extra time: After the first hour: $25 per 15 minutes, only if you approve it.
- Parts: Priced on a written quote and fitted only with your approval. If a part has to be ordered, there is no second visit fee to come back and fit it; fitting time is $25 per 15 minutes, shown on your quote.
- Written quotes are binding: you never pay more for parts or extra time than the written price you approved.
- Sales tax: On parts where it applies, itemized on your quote.
- Same fault back within 30 days of an on-site repair: Return visit and labor free (parts only under the part maker's or supplier's warranty).
- Weekday visits: Monday–Friday, 9 am–6 pm Central. No after-hours, weekend or rush fees.
- Cancellation: Cancel at least 2 hours before the booked arrival time: no charge. Later cancellation, or no access to the printer when we arrive: $119 visit fee.
- Visit fee: The visit fee is earned once the technician arrives and begins diagnosis; it is not refunded if you decline the quoted repair or the printer can't be repaired at a reasonable cost.
- Payment: Nothing is charged on this website. Payment for the visit, and any approved extra time or parts, is due when the visit is complete. We confirm the payment methods we accept when we book your visit.
By booking a visit you confirm that the details you give are accurate, that the visit is for a business or organisation at an address that, as far as you know, is within 65 miles of St. Anne, Illinois (we check it before scheduling), and that you accept these Terms, the Refund Policy and the Cancellation Policy on its behalf.
We may decline work that is outside the scope of our services, for example a repair that must be carried out by the manufacturer under its warranty, or a repair whose cost would be unreasonable for the printer. The visit fee still applies once the technician has arrived and begun diagnosis.
7. Access to your premises and permission to work on printers
- At the booked time, your business gives the technician safe access to the premises, the printers to be worked on and a place to work, during your normal opening hours.
- A person who can approve extra time, parts and payment for your business is present or reachable during the visit.
- By booking a visit, your business gives us permission to inspect, adjust and repair the printers you ask us to work on, and to change the printer settings on the computers and network equipment they print through. A technician works on printers at your business only with your permission and stops if you ask.
- Where a computer or network device needs a sign-in, a member of your staff signs in. We never ask for account passwords, banking details or government ID, and we do not install software without explaining what it is and why.
- If the printers are leased, rented or managed by another company, you are responsible for checking that your agreement with that company allows the work.
- If there is no access to the printer when we arrive, the $119 visit fee applies, as for a late cancellation.
8. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate business contact, service address and printer information, including your company name, business type and company size.
- Use the services only for lawful business purposes and only on equipment your business is entitled to have serviced.
- Keep backups of your business data. We are not responsible for data loss that occurs while following a guide or during a visit, except where it is caused by our failure to use reasonable skill and care.
9. Intellectual property
The text, layout and compiled guides on this site belong to us and are licensed to your business for its internal use. Manufacturer names, logos and product images remain the property of their owners.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The website and free guides are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. On-site visits are carried out with reasonable skill and care. If the same fault comes back within 30 days of an on-site repair, the return visit and labor are free; parts are covered only under the part maker's or supplier's warranty.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected with the website or a visit is limited to the amount you paid us for that visit. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data or the cost of replacement equipment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the services.
13. Third-party links
Links to manufacturer sites, Google Maps and other third parties are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to the services for abuse, fraud or breach of these terms. Sections 9 to 15 survive termination.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without affecting any mandatory law that applies to your business and cannot be excluded by agreement. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless such law gives your business the right to bring a claim locally.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. A visit is priced under the terms in force when you booked it.
